Natural Healing Alternatives

Dr. Pamela Graves, DVM, CVSMT, Veterinarian at Jensen's Animal Hospital brings alternative and natural healing methods to you and your horse at our location. Those wishing to pursue this type of diagnosis and treatment will find an agreeable atmosphere in which to discuss options with Dr. Graves, who will come to Wild Apple Ranch to work with your horse.

Dr. Graves views alternative therapy as a potential supplement to her conventional veterinary medicine practice which may include x-rays, blood work, physical examination, and other laboratory tests. Wild Apple Ranch sees these methods as an expansion of possibilities for your horse to heal and be healed. Both Dr. Graves and Wild Apple Ranch consider the integration of conventional medicine and natural healing principles to be another choice for the individual horse owner.

Dr. Graves is certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation known as Chiropractic, and diagnoses and performs adjustments to alleviate pain. She also continues to study Applied Kinesiology with Dr. Carl DeStefano. Applied Kinesiology involves muscle testing to evaluate the condition of the body, but rather than a strength test, it is used to evaluate potential disease or disorder in the body. It is a non-invasive way to diagnose spinal and joint problems, organ dysfunction, vertebral disc problems, tendon vs. ligament issues, neurological vs. orthopedic problems, and much more.

Nutritional Response Testing, as taught by Dr. Freddie Ulan, D.C., is another alternative that also uses muscle testing to determine heavy metal exposure, household chemical toxicity, and immune system challenges such as parasites, fungi, bacteria, or viruses. Some of these conditions may be treated with whole food supplements or herbal remedies, which Dr. Graves can prescribe and obtain upon request.

Dr. Graves also has an interest in Veterinary Acupuncture and has plans to attend acupuncture training and certification courses in the coming year.
